I went to kovan with mum & Adam yesterday afternoon, as the seafood from the kovan fairprice branch were reali fresh, we decided to walk over to see wat fishes can we get at tt hour.
The friendly staff from fairprice happened to be displaying the freshly packed seafood out, we decided to buy some kun-ning fishes as mum was saying that its been ages since she last had them.
I decided to make good use of our rojak flower sambal chili paste to make a spicy dish. I was sick on monday & since den i been having light dishes for almost every meals.
I wanted something exciting, tt's able to perk mi up & gave my tummy some excitement. haha....had a daring try for spicy food!
Ingredients;
12 kun-ning fishes
2 tbsp rojak flower sambal chili paste
20g assam paste
50ml water
½ tbsp sugar
Dash of salt
Oil for frying
Method;
-Soak assam paste in water, rub & squeeze. Drained & discard residue.
-Wash & clean kun-ning fishes, dry with kitchen towel.
-Shallow fry in hot oil till crispy & golden brown.
-Drained on kitchen towel to remove excess oil, place on serving dish.
-Prepare gravy by frying chili paste with 1 tsp oil, add assam water.
-Bring to boil, season with salt & sugar.
-Drizzle gravy over fried fish.
-Enjoy!
