Chocolate Dome Cake

In order to celebrate Father's Day, i baked a chocolate dome cake specially for Dad. Butter cream cake brings back sweet memories of my childhood where i will always stop by the confectionery which sells traditional butter cream cake.

Its very simple to do, as for the frosting, i used butter cream to ice the whole cake.

Ingredients for cake;
150g butter
220g castor sugar
250 top flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
250ml buttermilk
2 eggs
½ tsp vanilla essence
60g unsweetened coco
100ml boiling water

Ingredients for frosting;
100g butter
250g icing sugar
150ml milk
50g melted unsweetened chocolate

Method;
-Dissolve coco powder in hot water.
-Sift dry ingredients into a mixing bowl.
-Cream fats & sugar till fluffy, add eggs 1 @ a time.
-Stir in essence, fold in dry ingredients, alternate with buttermilk.
-Stir in coco mixture.
-Pour into 2 X 8” greased tin
-Bake at 180ºC for 35mins or until cooked.
-Prepare frosting by beating all ingredients till smooth.
-Assembly cake by sandwiching cooled cakes with frosting, ice the whole cake.
-Sprinkle choco shavings on top.
-Enjoy!

*Cake can be chilled, but gotto leave @ room temperature for awhile b4 serving.
