Braised Tau Kee With Pork Belly

An easy to prepare 1 pot dish which is great to be served with plain porridge. I would think it suits the meal menu of a sickly who is recuperating. Slightly salty & sweet to match plain porridge, well cuz Adam's been sick these 2 days due to poor digestive system. He dreads plain porridge, therefore tis dish would be juz nice.

Ingredients;
1 bunch tau kee, break into small pieces
Some canned peanuts
Some pork belly
1 small piece rock sugar
1 star anise
1/2 cinnamon stick
1 1/2 tbsp thick dark soy sauce
1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
Some stock

Method;
-Soak tau kee in water for an hour.
-Blanched pork belly in hot water, drained.
-Prepare gravy by boiling stock, oyster sauce, dark soy sauce, cinnamon stick, star anise together.
-Add tau kee & pork belly, boil till soft
-Add peanuts & rock sugar, cover & let simmer over low heat.
-When gravy thicken, serve the dish with chopped scallions.
-Enjoy!

If the sauce is thicker & darker, i would love it with plain rice & steamed vegetables.
