Cooking Time!

Have you gals ever been in a situation where you find it difficult to cook well in a unfamiliar kitchen? I do feel so, especially during the 1st encounter cooking at Tab's place & Kate's house. There are many things u need to be aware of like the surroundings, where to find the seasonings, most importantly is how to control the flames as different stove works differently.

Having been to this kitchen for the past years, let me see what i can whipped out this time round in a "familiar" kitchen. Tabby and i used to spend weekends together to cook all kinda food and we usually have a theme. We had African theme, Chinese, Japanese etc... where all food has to be of the same theme all the way from starter to main course till dessert.

We were shopping for groceries at the supermarket and planned for a western dinner theme. Menu will be cream of mushroom, crispy dory fish with alfredo pasta, pork chop with brown sauce and not forgetting baked chocolate chip cookies for tea break. After we've got most of the ingredients and was about to make payment, we suddenly had a craving for wanton noodles and thus decided to change dinner to chinese theme.

No wonder people say, gals are as changeable as weather! haha... all rite, let me announce our dinner menu. Wanton noodles with roasted pork and chicken char siew, served with boiled and fried wanton. Tea break will be pandan flavour mua chee.

Here's our mua chee!

Recap on how it is done, simple procedure!
-Scoop tablespoonful of mixture and boil, drained and mash in a mixing bowl.

-Mix with fried shallots and shallots oil, pan fry on a non-stick frying pan.

-Till lightly brown and crispy.
-Cut into small pieces and coat with peanut powder mixture.
-Enjoy!

Janurius is just in time for tea break but seems like Tab is more interested in what Jan bought. ~Their favourite Sashimi!

Dinner's ready! So delicious! haha....
Tabby was boasting to Jan everything is made from scratch, i marinated and baked the 2 types of charsiew using different temperature and cooking time as chicken tends to cook faster.

Not forgetting fried wanton to be serve with mayo for those who loves fried stuff. Hmm... wondering wat's the theme for our next cooking session?! Reali looking forward to it.
