Been cracking my brains, thinking of a new method of cooking tofu to satisfy my crave. Finally, decided to prepare a 2 step cooking method.
1st, to steam. 2nd, to deep fried.Here comes my gold bar tofu......
Ingredients;
1 block tofu
100g minced pork
2 dried mushroom, soak & diced
3 water chestnuts, chopped
1 baby carrot, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp light soy sauce
1 tsp cornflour
Pinch of salt & msg
Some batter
Oil for greasing & frying
Method;
-Remove tofu fm packaging, place a chopping board on top of tofu block to remove excess water.
-Mash tofu with a fork, mix minced pork, carrots, water chestnuts & mushroom together.
-Add in all seasoning, stir in cornflour & beaten egg.
-Pour mixture onto well greased tray, steam on high heat for 12-15mins.
-When tofu cooled, cut into rectangular shape.
-Prepare batter by mixing flour, rice flour, salt & water together.
-Dip into batter, deep fried till golden brown.
-Serve with chili dips.
-Enjoy!
