A very simple and easy to prepare snack....for those who love green chilies.
Just need to prepare a flour batter, season with taste, add chopped onions + red and green chilies, deep fried till crispy and brown. Serve with chili dips and Enjoy!
I ate something similar yesterday and it was so...... disappointing! Had lunch at a coffeeshop with my colleagues and feels like i was being ripped off.
Nothing special about the dish and in fact, there was not much ingredients except steamed minced pork patties drizzle with a lousy salty gravy( a combination of salt water with dark soy sauce, thicken with cornflour). It's the worst gravy i ever come across in my life and the best thing is, for a pathetic piece of meat patties with another vegetable dish, it cost with $4.20!!! Daylight robbery! If the food is nice, i dun mind paying even it's at a coffeeshop, but it taste unacceptable!
Hence, I decided to cook this dish with my favourite water chestnut to comfort myself and mine taste a million times better than the "Disappointment" (not that i'm proud or over confident of myself, it's juz that anyone who can taste definitely cooks more better!)
Ingredients; Minced pork (combination of 70% lean meat with 30% fats) Baking soda Light Soy sauce Salt Sesame oil Pepper Water chestnut, chopped
Method; -Marinate minced pork with the seasonings, set aside in fridge for 1 hr, stir in cornflour. -Shaped into patties and steam on medium heat till cook. -Bring sauce to boil and drizzle over meat patties. -Garnish and serve. -Enjoy!
A special request from me and dad cooked us his best dish~ fish head with bitter gourd. A dish loved by all of us for the past 2 decades. Lolz... Thumb's up and it's dad's specialty!
Oh well, I helped in preparing the sauce and the other ingredients!
A dish nearly forgotten dish where I haven been cooking for the last 4 years.... A sudden crave for it.... and here it is! Fantastic!
Ingredients; 10 chicken middle wings 1.4 tsp baking soda 2 tbsp light soy sauce 1/2 tsp dark soy sauce 1/2 tbsp brown sugar 3/4 tbsp oyster sauce 1 tsp honey
Method; -Poke holes onto winglets, marinate for at least 5 hrs. -Using a non-stick frying pan, grill winglets until brown on both sides. -Pour in some marinade sauce, cover and on grill over high flame and let winglets absorb all sauce. -Serve & enjoy!
What should I name this dish? Well, i'm not sure either! Tot of naming it vegetarian sweet and sour pork but comes to think of it, finds the shape abit weird. Hence, decided to name it using a clear cut name.
Ingredients; 8 dried chinese mushrooms, soaked in warm water Potato starch Rice flour Fine salt Roasted white sesame seeds Oil for frying
Sauce; Chili paste Tomato ketchup Sugar Oil
Method; -Squeeze water out from the mushrooms. -Trim off the stalk, cut the mushrooms into long strips by trimming along the perimeter. -continue until all mushrooms finishes. -Sprinkle fine salt over mushroom strips. -Set aside for 1/2 hr, let it season. -Sprinkle potato starch and rice flour over. -Deep fried in war oil till crispy, drained. -Bring sauce to boil, remove from heat when it thickens. -Drizzle sauce over mushroom, sprinkle with roasted sesame seeds and serve. -Enjoy!
排骨王 is 1 of my all time favourite dish and i would order it whenever i have my dinner at a zhu chao stall. The usual 排骨王 uses sweet and sour sauce and it's time for a change since i'm the chef of the night.
I chose to use fruity sauce, plum with a twist of lemon! :-0 Am so looking to the finished product.
Ingredients; Pork chop Cornflour Thickening agent Cherry tomatoes Chopped coriander Oil for frying
Marinate; Bicarbonate soda Light soy sauce Salt Pepper
Sauce; 2 tbsp plum sauce 1 tsp oyster sauce 1 tsp sugar Lemon juice Dark soy sauce Light soy sauce Water
Method; -Marinade pork chop for 1 hr, coat with some cornflour. -Deep fried in oil till 70% cook, drained. -Bring sauce to boil, return pork chop to wok. -Toss well, simmer until gravy thickens. -Garnish and serve. -Enjoy!
Dad bought some super fresh lobster back home for dinner and i decided to make a salad as a starter for us. Hmm... to dad, he considered the lobsters super cheap. Well? Izzit so? 4 medium lobster cost $60.00, well can say it's cheaper than restaurant.
Ingredients; 4 medium lobster Mayonnaise lime juice Condensed milk Pinch of salt Yoghurt Shredded lettuce Cherry tomatoes
Method; -Wash and thoroughly clean the lobsters. -Steamed till cooked. -Remove shell, cut into bite sizes. -Mixed the salad sauce together, toss with the lobster. -Serve over lettuce and tomatoes. -Enjoy!
Lobster heads for Jesper and Dad. Lolz.. they love meatless part.
Look at these super fresh lobsters! Still struggling and kicking b4 they die :-( oops... i sound so evil, but that's the way to cook them.
I've made some breaded mushroom pork balls for Tab's party the other day and mum actually comment that she prefer eating breaded fish balls. Hello, its meant for Tab's party and not mums'! lolz... Alright den, i shall fulfill her request! Erm.. seems like i been fulfilling everyone's request these days. Who shall fulfill mine?! haha...
Ingredients; Fried fish balls Potato starch Egg, beaten Breadcrumbs Oil for deep frying Finely chopped coriander leaves
Method; -Wash and clean the fish balls. -Dry with kitchen towel, coat lightly with potato starch. -Dip into beaten egg, followed by breadcrumbs. -Deep fried in warm oil till golden brown. -Drained, sprinkle with chopped coriander and serve. -Enjoy!
What's for lunch? Hong Kong style instant noodle soup serve with fried luncheon meat, fried egg and greens. That was a special request from Adam & Jesper.
Alright, I shall fulfill their request. As for me, i shall have a self-invent 午餐肉丁 面. How do I prepare the 午餐肉丁?
Well... Step 1: Diced luncheon meat, pan fried with little oil till crispy. Step 2: Drained on kitchen towel to remove excess oil. Step 3: Fry spicy bean sauce till fragrant, add home-made chili paste, ketchup and some water. Step 4: Add luncheon meat and fry till gravy thicken. Step 5: Serve over blanched noodles, braised tau kee & veggie.
Was at Ang Mo Kio yesterday to run some errands and as it was bout 4-5pm, decided to find something to much as tea break. What to eat? what to eat? What else but the famous tip top curry puff! Lolz...
Wow... look at that thin crispy buttery curry puff skin! Oh mine, simply wonderful..... not forgetting the flavorful chicken curry potatoes fillings inside! Gotto eat it quick while hot.
Dear readers, gotto remember this logo. Other than available at Ang mo Kio, they have aq newly opened outlet at the basement of Plaza Singapura. Check it out ya :-P
Dad brought home some paus from the famous Tanjong Rhu Pau & Confectionery. And the best thing I like is.... it's all meat paus. lolz.... I been wanting to try their meat paus as so far in my memories, I've onlu tried their red bean paus and its yummy.
Their paus are usually smaller in sizes as compared to other brands or places. Well, can say it's small & unique, probably to cater to 一口包.
Here's their bid meat paus. So "big" right? They are actually the size of normal char siew paus.
And here are their char siew paus, my Favourite!
Look at the juicy and moist fillings inside! I'm loving it :-)
